About the Author

Recognized as a successful youth player in Louisville, Kentucky, Greg continued playing at Wheaton College in Massachusetts. He became a leader of the soccer program as a captain and earned the school's highest honor in sports, “Male Athlete of the Year,” in 1994. Greg graduated with a degree in biology and a minor in chemistry and art. Greg continued playing after college at a semiprofessional level while teaching marine biology. Beginning in 1998, he became the assistant coach of Wheaton College and coached club soccer in Boston. After two years, Greg earned his B-license with the USSF and his advanced national diploma with the NSCAA and became the assistant coach of the University of Cincinnati, where he was able to help develop professional soccer players as well as future college and professional coaches. While in the Cincinnati area, Greg directed camps and became deeply involved in the soccer community as a youth trainer and director at the club level. In 2009, Greg became the assistant coach at Thomas More College. For the next three years, Thomas More had their most successful seasons, winning three conference titles and making three NCAA tournament appearances. Greg has personally experienced the dedication and sacrifice it takes to become a successful player and shares his insight through his coaching. He has written and illustrated Solo Soccer to provide a helpful tool that can be used by players while practicing on their own. He lives with his supportive wife, Sarah, and daughter, Caroline.
