About the Book

"Peter Sausage" is a picture book taken from a true story of the life of a neglected, little , red Dachshund abandoned on the streets of New York City. His luck changed the day he found his future Mommy, a schoolteacher, on her way to work . From that day on, Peter Sausage, a little dog full of vibrant personality and the will to live, had a new life in a loving home. We hope that by sharing this story of Peter Sausage, we will encourage others to open their hearts and homes to other neglected and abandoned animals so their lives will also have happy endings.

About the Author

Vicky and her sister Cathy, have rescued many animals over the years. Vicky is an early childhood teacher, amateur musician, animal activist and puppeteer. Cathy studied art at Fashion Institute of Technology, New York University and Parsons. She taught art for many years in New York City schools. Her hobbies include singing, amateur theater, playing the harp and figure skating.
