About the Book

The Crisp follows a common theme for all times: "The future is always about the children." In a race against time, the nearing sun, and skin cancer of epidemic proportions, the human race hopes to ensure its future by saving fifty healthy children, selected to be launched from the planet´s surface. The Crisp is a futuristic saga of despair mixed with hope, taking readers over two centuries into the future. Through consequences of its own selfish devices, humanity must exist with crude implements in a society reduced to limited technology. About the Author

A career journalist of over thirty years, Paul S. Brittain offers The Crisp as his third book in eighteen months, and first full-length saga. The editor of The Independent-Observer in Scottdale, Pa., he and his wife, Kathleen, have been married for over twenty years. He was first published with a humorous anecdote in the May 2000 issue of Reader's Digest. The author's first two books are Tranquility: Reflections of Life, and Cobwebs: Tales of Mirth and Mystery. He is an award-winning newspaper photographer. "The Crisp" will be followed by its concluding sequel: Children of The Crisp.
