About the Book
This little book is about fulfilling some dreams. A year ago, Matey my Bichon Frise and I spent a month in Paris. There was never any question that Matey would accompany me. I knew he would be good company, but I had no idea he would become such a large part of the scene itself. I rented an apartment near Les Halles. Matey flew Air France “Cargo Class.” He intently sniffed the air outside his window during the taxi ride into Paris. You could almost see written on his face, “Where the hell are we?”
We went back this year to Cancale, a fishing village on the Bay of Mont Ste. Michel in Brittany. I was seeking French oysters in the place where they come from. Matey could have cared less about oysters, but he loved leading the search.
