About the Book

From A Memory is a first person perspective of provocative thoughts on an increasingly common experience, the loss of memory. Tommy Mullen writes the introduction about his Dad, John Mullen. John, committed by Tommy to an assisted living facility, because of memory loss, tells his son, a month before he dies, about essays he has written, while in his own home the previous Winter and Spring.

There are 20 essays by John, who had an extensive background in philosophy, with 10 brief commentaries by Tommy. These essays were written as a form of philosophical therapy, which John was convinced would keep his memory alive and therefore avoid commitment.John, committed by Tommy to an assisted living facility, because of memory loss, tells his son, a month before he dies, about essays he has written, while in his own home the previous Winter and Spring.
