About the Book

In the sights of the rifle, the crossed hairs with the elevation marks like little lines running out and down the sides met. They lingered on the face of the gunner. He was sweating. His helmet strap was pulled loose at the throat and moved with the motion of his head. He had dark eyes and needed a shave. A small mustache dominated the lower half of the face, accenting the red tongue as it peeped out and licked his lips in a nervous reaction.

Like sudden death, the afternoon was filled with the sound as the Thompson banged out its sound. The driver jumped, blood spreading over the front of the uniform, his hand closing spasmodically on the radiophone. The jeep lurched. The gunner swiveled the machine gun toward the road facing the sound. The big gun went into action, raking and scratching at the vegetation, the singing of the bullets tearing up the road. The lighter sound of an automatic rifle blended with the chatter of a second machine gun.

About the Author

This book is the culmination of a life long affair with the motorcycle. The author has had thirty years of motorcycling experience, long before it became as popular as it is today. He has written plays; many short stories and poetry; three novels, small press publications, two still in print. He is currently working on the second part of VIGNETTES IN ZEN, the result of fifteen years of study. The characters in A FACE FULL OF WIND are tightly drawn in a composite sense, meant to display the mindset of a small part of the motorcycling fraternity. The author resides in a rural section of Ohio.
