The purpose of this booklet is to minimize the scientific jargon in the two preceding books, Marine Geomorphology and Active Margin Geomorphology. Those were written with the intent of getting to the folks involved with the data collection; that is, pointing out the data sets which had been collected since the formulation of the plate tectonic hypothesis in 1966, or thereabouts. About the Author
I spent my career spanning with the Ocean Survey Program (OSP; 1966-1993) and the World Bathymetry Division (1993-1998) of the US Naval Oceanographic Office (NAVOCEANO). I compiled over 200 PS-8 and PS-16 scale charts in addition to thousands of point data charts for the submarine community. I logged over 1300 at-sea days on NAVOCEANO vessels, most as compilation supervisor or senior scientist, amassing over 600,000 nautical miles including 10 Med cruises, 35 Atlantic cruises, and 22 in the Pacific. I have delivered many talks/presentations up to international in scope in addition to many publications.
