About the Book
I’ve known Jerry Gibson over the past few years, first as my patient and
now as my mentor and brother in Christ. My relationship with Jerry has
helped me gain a great appreciation for the many similarities between our
physical and spiritual health. You see, sin is like a terrible disease. Failing to
surrender to God’s healing love is comparable to having a terminal illness and
not seeking medical care. God is the ultimate physician. He has the perfect
cure (the saving power of Jesus Christ) for our most deadly disease (our own
sin). It is through our love relationship with God’s Son and through the
powerful wisdom of God’s magnificent Word (the Bible) that we can face the
countless choices that need to be made in our lives.
In A Letter from Grandpa, Jerry addresses some important decisions
that must be made by two of his teenage granddaughters. There has been a
death in the family, and one of the girls had to choose whether to attend
the memorial service or go to a concert featuring one of her favorite
rock stars. Jerry’s Bible-based advice about making choices and facing
difficult life decisions is given in a compelling yet loving way that speaks
to all of us, both young and old. The guidance in his letter can and should
be applied to any choice in our lives. Reading A Letter from Grandpa will
help teenagers, parents, and grandparents tackle life’s decisions with
confidence and peace. It has already touched numerous lives and I know it
will also touch yours.

About the Author
I am honored to commend Jerry Gibson, the author of Angels in Africa to you. I have been acquainted with Jerry from the very beginning of his Christian walk. I well recall when he showed up on our doorstep in Minneapolis, as we provided lodging for him and several other prospective students of Minnesota Bible College. We have followed his illustrious career with his faithful wife Normadeene from its inception. It is a thrilling story of Christian pioneering. Jerry has ministered to local congregations, planted new churches. He has served as a professor and president of a Bible college, and was a pioneer in establishing campus ministries. His most noteworthy accomplishment is what prompted the writing of this book, Angels in Africa, as he and Normadeene traveled with their four children to Ghana, West Africa to be the Founders of Ghana Christian College and Seminary. This book tells of the perils they faced, and the encounters they had with angels, which helped them accomplish their mission in Ghana. All four of the children were delivered from the jaws of death by guardian angels. You will be inspired and have your faith strengthened as you read about these thrilling encounters.
