About the Book

Elizabeth Little lead a charmed life as the daughter of Catherine Little, a widow and the proprietor of “The Little Antic Shop” on NJ Route 9 in the New Jersey Pine Barrens. After her mother’s death, her world collapsed. A ring, given to Beth, by her mother, before her death, resulted in threats on her life. Beth returned to her apartment in New York City to begin a position at the Museum of Natural History. A Ledger and a key to a safety deposit box led to a discovery that her mother’s identity was questionable—as a result—her own. This sent Beth on a wild and dangerous search for answers. Complicating her life further was the emergence of Stanford Turner, the man she was to have married. Beth’s quest, to discover the truth about her mother’s past, take Beth and Stan to Rome, Italy. Here, with the help of Interpol, she learned the truth about her mother and by extension her own identity. During this painful search for answers, Beth and Stan rediscovered the meaning of commitment and love.

About the Author

Mary Casella is an educator and an award-winning playwright (New Jersey State Council on the Arts). Mary Casella’s latest endeavor is to translate some of her plays to novels. Written in the Sand is a novella that had its original life as her play, A – Is For Andy. This play had a staged reading at the Urban Arts Theater in New York City, sponsored by the now defunct Forum of Italian American Playwrights (Past-President, Mario Fratti). Also, she was chosen for a brief stay to be a visiting playwright at the acclaimed Actors Studio. Recently VSA New Jersey, State Organization on Arts and Disability, produced two of her plays Between First and Third and A is for Andy at the George Street Playhouse in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Here a scene from Scampolo (her translation from the Italian) had a workshop presentation.
