About the Book
This book contains a historical account of the Madison County Association of Volunteer Fire Departments Inc. of Madison County, Alabama. It documents the beginning, growth, consolidation, and implementation of Alabama’s premier countywide Association of rural volunteer fire departments that provide fire protection and emergency medical response to rural citizens. This account also describes how the Association, through the years, related to the majority will of its member fire departments and conducted business with other organizations, agencies, and institutions as regards to identifying, planning, and implementing (in a spirit of cooperation) critical elements of the emergency fire and medical response system now in place in rural Madison County.
