About the Book

“Life is good,” Joyce says. “Some days, I don’t feel like jumping ditches, but we can always praise our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, for all he has done. Amen!”

About the Author

Joyce Bennett says she is very fortunate to have been raised in the North Georgia hills. She was raised where “Amazing Grace” bounced off the rafters of the old-time churches. Old-time shouting was heard through the raised windows. Women fanned babies with funeral home fans. “I can see in my mind the women shaking those three-piece fans and beginning to fan the babies,” Joyce said. “Some of the fans were stuck together, so they had to be shaken loose before you could use them.” Joyce says you can almost hear the bluegrass music and old-time country echo through the valleys, mountains, and hollows. She wonders if the tunes weren’t mixed together from our forefathers, who braved the crossing to come to America. Joyce fumes when she thinks about some trying to take our Christian rights. “The way I see it,” she says, “If we have the goods, and it’s buried down deep in our spirit and soul. It is bound to come out somewhere. What happened to freedom of speech? The Lord, Jesus Christ, is my best friend.” “Yeah!” She can almost hear, Bill, her husband, say. Bill is now enjoying everything heaven has to offer. “Life is good,” Joyce says. “Some days, I don’t feel like jumping ditches, but we can always praise our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, for all he has done. Amen!”
