About the Book
His throne as lord king of the centaurs of Crystal Valley has been usurped, and Thunderhoof finds himself hunted by the very one who stole his throne and discredited his name. Along the way, he finds companionship in the form of a dwarf who is the lone survivor of a vicious attack on his village. Together, the two strive to elude the centaur’s pursuers while attempting to clear his name and return him to his throne. There is one major complication—his enemy is his own brother Granitemane, who has an agenda of his own for keeping the throne and doing away with Thunderhoof. The reader is tasked with making the choices that move the plot forward. These decisions will have consequences since some of them will put Thunderhoof in deadly danger while others will lead him closer to recovering his throne. The way will not be easy.
About the Author
Greg Kauffman-Starkey grew up reading “choose your own adventure” type of books and, having amassed a collection of well over 2100 of these books from various series and collections, had always wanted to write and publish one of his own. He has written many but never felt they were good enough for publication. Inspired by the writings of Stephen R. Donaldson, C. S. Lewis, Terry Pratchett, and other well-known fantasy authors, he set out to write a book requiring reader participation and set around a central character that’s one of his favorite fantasy creatures—the centaur. He was born in northeastern Wisconsin and grew up in northeastern Michigan, where he had the distinction of winning a rare four-year Excellence in Creative Writing award from Tawas Area High School. He currently resides in the Fort Lauderdale area of south Florida. He is recently married and lives with his husband and shepherd dog–golden retriever mix, Blondie. This is his first published book.
