About the Book

The children in the town of Willow Creek wait anxiously each week for the little train that brings supplies to Mr. Herman’s general store. The conductor, Mr. Mike, always brings special surprises to pass out to the children, and after the supplies are unloaded, he lets the children board the train for a ride. The children find out from Mr. Mike that the little train, the VonAaron Express, will no longer be coming to their town to bring supplies, and they become very upset. The parents observe how sad the children are, so they come together to figure out how they can get the VonAaron Express back into their town, so they can bring happiness back to their children.

About the Author

Theresa Gonzales was a stay at home mother of two children. A daughter named Amy, who was born with Down syndrome and a son named Aaron, who was born with dislocated hips and was in a body cast for six months. Between doctor’s appointments, therapy sessions, and volunteering for the Arc, an organization whose mission is to advocate for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, she needed an escape from the everyday turmoil, so she wrote stories to read to her children. The children went to school and Theresa went to work and the stories were tucked away. She now wants other children to enjoy the stories that she has waited over forty years to share. She hopes that you will enjoy book #2. Theresa continues to be involved with the Arc of Jefferson, Clear Creek & Gilpin Counties in Colorado and served as a Board President. A portion of the books sold will be donated to the organization.
