About the Book
My Italian American Family, Rural Taiwan and Lawndale News Memoirs are a combined set of memoirs. The first deals with Mr. Nardini’s family and their personal history as well as the author’s life growing up. The second deals with his three and a half years living on a farm in Taiwan and what rural life was like during the time the author lived in the rural Taiwanese countryside. The third memoir is about Mr. Nardini’s twenty years working for Lawndale News—a bilingual Latino newspaper in English and Spanish located in Cicero, Illinois.
About the Author
Daniel Nardini was born in Bloomington, Illinois, and raised in Elmhurst, Illinois.He graduated from Beloit College in Beloit, Wisconsin, with a bachelors in anthropology and history, and he graduated from Western Illinois University in Macomb with a masters in European and Asian history. Mr. Nardini had lived and worked in Taiwan as an English teacher from 1990-1994, and in South Korea as an English teacher from 1996-1997. He has written for Lawndale News for close to 24 years, and has written three previous books including South Korea: Our Story, The Day China Cried, and My Taiwan, Seoul and Guadalajara (Mexico) Memoirs. Currently Mr. Nardini lives with his wife Jade in Chadwick, Illinois.
