About the Book
Zep and Don is a fictional tale about the Australian wildlife, which I have been fortunate to observe closely while living for twelve years in far-west Queensland. All the paintings were done live. The black-eared kite is a native of Australia.
About the Author
ALIXE DIQUE was born in Nasik, India in 1948, and migrated to Australia on the ship ‘The Stratheden’ in 1949; was educated at the Brisbane Central Technical College to achieve a Diploma in Commercial Art. After working as a junior artist at Jackson Wain Advertising, she moved on to Press Etching (Printers) and later became a freelance artist; having held 7 one-man exhibitions, 2 being overseas in Kent, Great Britain. Alixe has set up a Regional Art Gallery in Bedourie, Far West Queensland. An avid painter in oils and watercolour, Alixe also enjoys drawing in pencil and charcoal. She has painted 13 backdrops for theatre companies for various plays and ballets; and is the author of two other illustrated books, Zep and Don, and About Some Owls.
