About the Book
Happy the elephant is cheerful, kind, and excited to be unique. She is not all grey like the other elephants. Instead, Happy has a rainbow striped trunk and polka dot ears. One day, it begins to rain in Happy’s little village. It rains and rains. The townspeople are excited to have water to make the crops grow, and the elephants love playing in puddles. However, the storm gets out of hand, and eventually the power goes out in Happy’s village. Happy the elephant has a solution! She has a way to bring light to the darkness. Because she is different, Happy is able to save the day. Happy’s story is about diversity and celebrating who you are because we’re all different in one way or another—and that is what makes us special.
