ShieldTalk Week 2 Wait Wait. No further instructions - no additional details - no, not even any idea of how long you will have to. It's inevitable and true...there are times in your life when the only thing you can do is: Wait. It's uncomfortable. It's hard. It can produce fear. It can frustrate you to seemingly no end. You don't understand it. You question it, and yet the persistent and even bothersome instruction won't relent. The instruction remains to just: Wait. This four-letter word can even tempt you to pronounce other four-letter words (Real Talk). But I've learned (and still learning) that waiting is much about development. The instruction to wait is an instruction to develop. Expand your endurance, gain more strength, become more patient, establish humility, get acquainted with contentment, and emerge more valiant than before. But please hear this: The key to your development and the key to receiving what's yours after the wait is to stick and stay— don't cut and run ...do not (whatever you do) depart. This week (while you wait), don't depart. Stick and stay. Keep your composure. Trust your teacher who is God that gave you the instruction (which came in the form of a dilemma or crisis) to wait. When the wait is over, you'll be amazed that somehow you and your family were sustained the entire time and that you didn't fall. And what God gives to you after the wait will be worth both the lesson and the blessing—just you wait and see!
