I don’t remember if this is a part of Zaria’s master plan or not, but jail sucks. Like really really sucks. The cell we were in just had to be so unsanitary! The bars were a good three inches apart and nine feet tall. The cell itself was s maller than my room. It was probably made to hold around three people but here we were, a rebellious group of eight. The mastermind herself stood at the bars ecstatically spouting profanities at the now-gone guards. Her emerald hair was messy from her struggles earlier when they shoved us in here. Mokoto, her twin, was sitting in the corner playing chess with our red-haired friend. My older brother stood leaning on the other corner with his arms crossed at his chest. He had his eyes closed like he was sleeping. I was not as calm seeing as I had been crying for the last 10 minutes and to my right sat my crush of 18 years, Shinsui –who was muttering nonsense in a panic. His aid sat on my right, patting my back as I cried. Back at the bars, Zaria seemed tired and started assaulting the metal. Justine, who was playing with the dirt on the floor, stood up to calm her. I wish I could explain why we were in jail but it’s complicated. To be honest it started almost a year ago.

About the Author
Rose K. Wood is a recent high school graduate with plans to study Astronomy and Writing at the University of Oklahoma. She has been writing and creating stories since the young age of 8. She had studied writing and poetry for years before she wrote her first book. She has published three poems in school journals. When she is not writing she is watching science documentaries, watching romantic comedies, or reading romance, fantasy, and science fiction. She aims to write stories that entertain like the ones she’s read.
