About the Book
From my long observation of the human scene, it’s no “bridge too far” to say that most people most of the time are following some guidance for direction that is not related to self knowledge. In other words, we all make decisions that direct our actions without any clear or cogent application of our reference to self knowledge. That is, we go on about our business without having any insightful clue as to who we really are. In effect, we are complying with some guidance, but what it is, and where did it come from? I take this book’s little from a film I saw countless years ago about a young boy tasked with flying a space ship solo. He’s not been trained as an astronaut; he’s not a rocket scientist on a test flight. However, he does have a very unusual guidance system. Unseen beings (?) help him. He respectfully defers to them, and regularly asks for their help, saying “Guidance?” And when he tunes in to their direction, he replies with happy confidence, “Compliance!”
