About the Book

“There is a saying,” said Milandra, “about a view of distant castles. My father would say that from afar, they all look so imposing. It is only when you approach them that you will see the cracked windows and the crumbling walls and realise that they are just like all other castles, houses, or even the peasant’s hovel.” After the death of her beloved father, Princess Milandra is banished from her kingdom by her evil step mother. Cruelly forced into an unknown world, she bravely embarks on a journey of survival that quickly turns into an adventure like no other. Her kind spirit, positive attitude and her ability to embrace all, earns her a band of unlikely friends and allies. With the words of her father to guide her, she overcomes many challenges along the way. But the greatest challenge comes from within her. Can Milandra fi nd the courage to face her evil step mother and reclaim her rightful place as Queen of Belgarde? This enthralling story carries powerful messages and important life lessons that young readers will value.

About the Author

Eaon was born in Worthing, England in 1935. He served in the Royal Air Force as a Police dog handler for 24 years. After completing his service in 1975 he moved to Hong Kong with his wife Jilly and their two children and started his own dog training business. It was a common sight to see Jacko in his trademark cowboy hat walking the hills of Hong Kong with his pack of dogs. Eaon’s eccentric and colourful personality made him famous to the people of Hong Kong. Generations of children knew him as ‘Jacko the Jester,’ magician, puppeteer and ventriloquist. He also made a name for himself on the stage in Hong Kong’s amateur theatre as a play write, producer and actor. However writing was his greatest passion. Eaon passed away in 1997, this was the last book he wrote, but the fi rst to be published, and proudly edited by his granddaughter Chloe.
