About the Book

Earth is in need of redemption, what for?

James, Mary and Cynthia take it upon themselves to change the way of thinking of billions of people, what for?

Eloise and Heinrich, who have looked on impassively while life came into being, evolved and got obliterated on many worlds, help Jammarcyn in their redemption effort, what for?

The Marshals risk their immortal lives to lead simple people, spiritually advanced people, pigheaded people, all kinds of people away from greed, violence and dominance, what for?

Earth is in need of redemption because Council is tired of constraining Earthlings to Earth to prevent people from contaminating the rest of the Universe with their greed, violence and dominance.

James, Mary and Cynthia think there may be some good people on Earth and that they can perhaps help some good ones to help the bad; if only they can find the good in some and show them the way without frightening them.

Eloise is lending a hand to keep an eye on Jammarcyn and make sure they develop along the lines she wants them to, and to watch out that Heinrich does not get ahead in their private competition. Heinrich gets involved because he's bored and the redemption of a world offers a new challenge; besides, he likes Earth food and it would be a waste to let it all get obliterated.

The Marshals risk their immortal lives because they prefer the exciting lifestyle on worlds living close to obliteration to the boring existence on 'decent, civilized' worlds; besides, Earth is Jammarcyn's world and Earthlings are Jammarcyn's people.

About the Author

I’m a retired accountant. Retired means I can write and keep myself otherwise occupied than by pestering my wife. Accountant means I have to be kept out of the mischief of telling others how to spend their money.

Numbers are cold and figures are uncompromising. Business correspondence is either dictating or placating and minutes of meetings leave no room for one’s own flights of fantasy. I earned a living in the harsh world of facts and stories got bottled up inside me while I dreamed to escape.

My characters talk a lot and think a lot to express their feelings. Their attitude to events and an underlying motive is more important than the mere occurrence of events. I like to see what I consider to be good to prevail. I want to express myself in my writing to identify with my kindred spirits – be they accountants or plumbers or housewives or whoever.
