About the Author
Tom Kane, a former Roman Catholic priest who was a member of a religious community, is a journalist at a small weekly newspaper in upstate New York. During his ten-years in the priesthood, he taught English at a prep school in Brooklyn, taught Theology and was a counselor at St. John’s University in Queens, New York. He left the priesthood after an intense interior crisis with the ruling elite of the church, principally the Vatican. For two years, he had a weekly spot on public radio station WJFF in upstate New York called “Life In These Parts” which described what life was like in the beautiful sylvan valley along the Delaware River. For the last few years, Kane, turned atheist and an agnostic, has been on an intense journey back to spirituality if not back to religion.
