About the Book

Already Near You is a collection of poetry by feminist poets Susan Windle and Ellen Ford Mason. These two women have been performing in the Philadelphia area with singer Annie Geheb since 1991 as Voices of a Different Dream. The poets document their journey together and present their most performed work. Rooted in the natural world, the poetry embodies the struggle to come into full voice in a culture that often veils the truth. The poems convey a vital and passionate connection to the earth and celebrate the deep connections between people. Painter Sara Steele has described their work: "like a good line drawing…simple, intricate, clear." Singer-songwriter Ysaye Barnwell dubs their CD, You Know My Name, "a lovely experience." About the Author

Susan Windle, founder of the ensemble Voices of a Different Dream, is a performing poet. She has presented her poetry in many settings, for audiences ranging from the very young to the very old. She is co-author of Already Near You: Poetry in Concert with poet Ellen Ford Mason and co-creator of two recordings: Unimagined Possibilities and You Know My Name.
