About the Author

In her seven years as a professional photographer, Veronica Yankowski’s award-winning work has taken her from the rubble of Ground Zero in New York City to the remote scenic beauty of the Snowy Mountain Range in southern Wyoming. Curently a staff photographer with Greater Media Newspapers in Freehold, New Jersey, Yankowski has had her images appear in several daily New Jersey newspapers, including the Pulitzer-prize winning Star Ledger of Newark as well as in magazines and on the internet. She recently received four New Jersey Press Association awards. Yankowski’s fascination with photography began her senior year in high school, however her passion began at Rider University where she quickly became the Photo Editor of the newspaper, yearbook and was the assistant to the University’s Chief Photographer. She graduated cum laude in 1996. During those four years, Yankowski began to explore further into her chosen profession journeying to Washington D.C. to document The Million Man March in 1995. Her photos received local recognition and were featured in exhibitions for Black History Month. While her professional photos have garnered first-place awards in her home state of New Jersey, Yankowski enjoys traveling the country photographing the picturesque beauty of the United States.
