About the Author

Lois Naumann Vahrenkamp is the granddaughter of a Lutheran Missionary to India and the daughter of a Lutheran Minister. She graduated from Concordia College in Austin, Texas, attended Concordia College Riverforest, Illinois, and also the University of Texas in Austin. She taught K-3 in the Lutheran Parochial School system in Texas. She was the first recipient of the “Outstanding Lutheran Teacher of the Year” award. After seventeen years in the classroom, she started a large retail antiques store. This business allows her and her husband many travel adventures all over the world. Mrs. Vahrenkamp now devotes her full-time efforts to writing and illustrating books for children. A native Texan, she continues her involvement in her church’s Steven Ministry program where she serves as a Stephen Ministry Leader and in liturgical art design.
