About the Book

Shining Water is the first of a trio of books dealing with love and relationships. The other two are Blue Lake and O’Hara’s Legacy.

This story is set mainly in a semi-fictional college town in the Midwest in the Sixties. Vietnam is a faint image in the background. The gaudy tumult of the ’hippie sixties’ has yet to burst onto the scene.

The characters are making their first movement across the portal of adulthood. Their stories are those of emerging identity as they begin to find their way into the larger world around them. Some of the attitudes which the characters evince while perhaps not ’politically correct’ by present standards, were prevalent during the time this story unfolds.

About the Author

The author was born and raised in Michigan within spitting distance of one of the Great Lakes. When the time came to go forth into the Real World, he spent over half of his adult life in the San Francisco Bay Area as that was the only place there was a body of water large enough to simulate the Lake.
