Joyce, striking out on a life of her own after a tragedy that left her fearing boats and water, purchases a small house near a lake where boat races are held annually. It seemed a big mistake until Sam. Her neighbor’s red setter became her friend. Next to his owner, she became the object of his affections. Of course, it led to his owner, Adam making it a threesome. Through careful manipulation, Adam was successful in freeing her from her fear of the lake without ever knowing what had caused it. With the help of his friends, he was able to bring the timid young lady back to the happy person she was meant to be. In spite of her parents domineering attitude, they cared little for the pain she had suffered. Their life was all too important to them. Their callous treatment at a birthday and re-union dinner of her family, left her in tears with their generous check in tiny bits on the table. She found her only joy in Adam’s arms, surrounded by Sam and her two children.

About the Author

Gen Carter is a new author with nine novels to her credit. She has always been a compulsive reader and gained her first look into the world beyond by reading her father’s Western Novels and her mother’s Romance Magazines while herding cattle and sheep on the North Dakota prairie. Her works, built around that foundation, are structured by her life experiences that were shared by eleven siblings, a loving husband and her own eight children.
