About the Book

Founded by a charismatic and persuasive Frenchman, Muskrat Town emerges as a farm town far ahead of its time.  He leaves behind a community that is virtually free of hate.

   Gideon Pike, a renown and celebrated Los Angeles detective, happens upon this idyllic place while searching for a sanctuary.  For years his life is near perfect and he believes he's left police work forever.

   But Milo Lentz, a sadistic and social misfit, takes an abandoned farm house just miles from Muskrat Town as his base of operation.  Two of the town folk's favorite people stumble upon Milo's hideaway and are murdered to keep them from disclosing his operation.

   Now Gideon Pike is asked once again to use his investigative skills to find the killer.  In doing so, he discovers that something far more sinister than murder is about to happen.  If it isn't stopped, hundreds of lives will be lost.

About the Author

Lee Drake worked for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department for four years. He also served as consultant for police departments and sheriff offices for seven additional years. Writing spanned a 20 year career and more than 3,000 participants have attended his seminars which included Creative Writing and Writing for Clarity. His publications include several non-fiction pieces and, The Murder of Bobby Oates is his fourth novel published by Xlibris. The others are: Monah, based on the life of Mo Nah Se Tah; A crime novel, Hiding Gideon Pike and its sequel, Murder in Muskrat Town.
