About the Book

Louis Sharpe, 75, widower, retired English teacher, decides to serve his country as a Census taker.

About the Author

He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1926 and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He earned a B.A. from Penn State in 1948 and an N.A. from the University of Pennsylvania in 1949. He taught English in high school and at an evening extension of Penn State until retirement in 1992. He has traveled extensively throughout Europe and the U.K. He has three children, Nancy, Laurel, and Marc.
