The purpose of this booklet is to minimize the scientific jargon in the two preceding books, Marine Geomorphology and Active Margin Geomorphology. About the Author
I spent my career spanning with the Ocean Survey Program (OSP; 1966-1993) and the World Bathymetry Division (1993-1998) of the US Naval Oceanographic Office (NAVOCEANO). I compiled over 200 PS-8 and PS-16 scale charts in addition to thousands of point data charts for the submarine community. I logged over 1300 at-sea days on NAVOCEANO vessels, most as compilation supervisor or senior scientist, amassing over 600,000 nautical miles including 10 Med cruises, 35 Atlantic cruises, and 22 in the Pacific. I have delivered many talks/presentations up to international in scope in addition to many publications.
