The maker of the universe, God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, also known as God of Israel/the Jews can be regarded as the most liberal being. Much as He asked Abraham to leave his homestead of Mesopotamia to go live in Canaan, he never forced Abraham to heed that instruction or directive. When He asked Abraham to go sacrifice Isaac, God never threatened Abraham to do it otherwise, he would suffer some consequences. It was Abraham’s chosen response to the instructions that determined what God did next. Subsequently, it was while using Moses to give Abraham’s descendants through Isaac and Jacob that God began to highlight the subject of the reasons the Israelites should heed His commandments. That is when Deuteronomy 28 outlines the blessings of obedience and consequences of disobedience. It emphasis that obedience blesses or benefits while disobedience hurts or bruises/batters. It is not a threat but simply a reminder of the implication of whatever choice an individual makes. Jesus followed similar pattern when He sent out His disciples. He told them never to force anyone to accept His message rather leave the hearers of His message to choose what to do with or how to react to it – accept/embrace or reject same. On the account of this truth about Jesus’s directive to His disciples concerning preaching his message, it can be said without any fear of contradiction that anyone who ever tried to force Jesus’s message and teachings on their fellow humans never acted in Jesus’s behalf but on their own venomous human nature that God the Father and Jesus-God the Son detests. All whoever have ever acted violently under the guise of getting their victims to embrace Jesus’s teachings or Christianity represented themselves rather than Jesus. There is what can be called ‘Message Delivery Guideline(s)’. Every errand has its peculiar delivery guideline. 1 Kings 13 attests that the Judah-based prophet whom God sent to reprimand King Jeroboam was given specific guideline on how he must conduct himself while running the errand. When he failed to remain within the guidelines, he suffered fatal punishment even though he had delivered the message creditably well. Whether God will punish those that killed those that refused to accept the message of Jesus is another matter that only God has the final say. There is no doubt that it will be very painful if Christian faith crusaders end up in hellfire because they killed/slaughtered those that refused to accept Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Saviour. Obviously, one of the worst things that can happen to anyone is to suffer consequences for any act that one had hoped for a reward.
