About the Book

A boy named Pete who does many things well somehow has trouble when he tries to spell. His adorable puppy named Lyon escapes from the house as Pete’s friend Joe is supposed to come over to play ball. Before Pete leaves to look for his dog, he writes a very innocent note for Joe, asking him to help in the search, not realizing the note’s misspelling. A calamity ensues when the note falls into the wrong hands, and it is believed an actual Lion is on the loose. Our main character learns the power of perseverance, whether you’re five or fifty, a valuable lesson at any age.

About the Author

D. B. Mallinger is a lifelong Pittsburgher who worked in the trucking industry decided to write his first book because of a love of dogs, creativity as well as the power of the human spirit. He delights in marinating the three, bringing powerful life’s lessons to the pages of children’s stories.
