The First Chapter, “Storms of Life” gives an overview of what is a storm, amazing things about storms. A storm is God’s method of purifying your Faith and for you to consider that a storm prepares you to comfort others. Going through storms of life does not mean you have sinned, or God has forsaken you. On the contrary, it may be an opportunity for building your Faith and Character. Your confidence develops in storms which is a necessary ingredient for capacity development. Indeed, the level of your success in life is a function of the three important ingredients of 3 C’s: Character, Confidence and Capacity.
In Chapter 2, “Storms of Life are Disrespectful”, first I introduced to you that terrible things happen to all and Not to Other People. It is amazing how I recovered from the storm of Life, and it is by the Grace of God. There is Hope and Healing from Storms of life. Sometimes storms of life continue with No end. God has a purpose for storms. What is it that you are going through? I shared the strategies to recover what the enemy has stolen. One thing that is clear is that storms of life are not permanent. They will come to destroy, tear down, and divide things.
In Chapter 3 entitled “Triggers of the Storms of Life”, I interrogated the triggers of storms in our lives. I referred to individual shortcomings, people’s wickedness, demonic manipulations and wrong choices. You will realize and understand that triggers of storms are part of our lives. They have a way of exposing your self-focus. You can put on front of caring about others until you realize that it is going to cost you. Suddenly, it is every man for himself! Self-pity is another sure sign that you have a biased view of yourself. You need to pause and get the big picture of what God is doing.
Chapter 4, “The Storm of Attitude” reminds you that it is crucial to understand your attitude. Because, attitude comprises of mindset, viewpoint, beliefs, etc. These key elements add to the person you are. Attitude matters more in the current unpredictable, unreliable, complicated, and confusing world that we are living in. Attitude Can Affect Your Life. Attitudes are developed over the years by various means. Attitude Impacts Your Life and Career. Your attitude is created by your thoughts, and you choose your thoughts. You are the designer of your structure of mind. You decide how you will perceive and process the incidents of life and work. You make the decision if your mindset is positive or negative. When you develop a cheerful outlook, you will start feeling better about yourself. You will treat yourself with more respect and love, and this in turn will improve your confidence levels and inner strength.
The next Chapter 5, “Your Attitude and Marriage” adds to the discussion on the storm of attitude focusing on cultivating a cheerful outlook towards your spouse, your relationship will be closer, more honest, and more nurturing for both of you. Your marriage will become a place you want to retreat to, a space of warmth and support for both of you. This chapter describes the possibility of Attitude Adjustment in Your Marriage. When you commit to a positive environment, your attitude follows suit. To adjust your attitudes in a productive way, you will also need to decide on your direction, and stick to it. If both spouses have a negative mindset, that will make difficult circumstances tougher.
Chapter 6, “Marital Storms”, elaborates that every marriage faces various kinds of storms. The key point here is to face the storms of marriage, whatever kind of storm it is, together with your spouse. The storm caused by someone you care about as much as your spouse may be exceedingly difficult to deal with. All marriages are obstructed by storms. Marital storms cause couples to seek a divorce daily. In this chapter, I shared giant storms in marriage. Sex is a very disturbing marital storm where couples punish each other by denying sex to the other spouse.
The next Chapter 7, “The Suicidal Storm of Life” shares the definition of the term suicide. Many different triggers can contribute to suicidal storm. It is difficult to understand what led a friend, family member, or celebrity to commit suicide. The chapter provides common triggers for suicidal thoughts and feelings and feelings, warning signs for those attempting suicide. Struggling to cope with certain circumstances in your life and pressures of life can cause you to feel suicidal. It is very difficult to see what a person is feeling on the inside, so it is not always easy to identify when someone is having suicidal feelings. The chapter closes by giving suicide prevention measures.
In Chapter 8, “Finding Hope Amid Storms”, I shared that many people lose hope and enter despair or depression from the overpowering sufferings that come with such trials as illness, family hardships, and loss of loved ones. Remember, God wants to journey with you in your storms. There is something good in every bad storm. To my knowledge and understanding God never promised us that this life would be easy, but He does promise that He is bigger than any storm we face in this world. Never allow storms to tame you.
In the Final Chapter 9, “Surviving Amid the Storms of Life” provides the book with finding beauty in the storm. Remember, we all go through storms and hardship in life, the good question is how do we handle or deal with the storms of life? You must keep your family strong amid storms of life. You cannot avoid the storms of life. Husbands are called to love their wives properly and wives to respect their husbands to raise children with strength, conviction, and moral fortitude in the middle of storms. Storms of life are part of our lives; morality is the line that you have personally selected that you will not cross.
