In light of what peoples of the world are witnessing due to the war of extermination waged by Russia against Ukraine, the aggressor forces commit their typical scorched earth policy. This is the French expression 'deja vu' to compare the similarities between the genocide, ethnic cleansing, and forced deportation committed in the nineteenth century against the Circassian nation with what is currently taking place in the Ukrainian arena since February 24, 2022.
The book reminds of dozens of peoples and nations eager to restore their confiscated legitimate rights since the fall of the Soviet Union until now. It is divided into time periods (chapters). It touches on articles, studies, prominent occasions, developments, events, and commemorations that occurred during the mentioned period. Grief-stricken peoples and nations know that "the tip of the iceberg" has been reached in anticipation of the end of pain, torment, and oppression.
The important topics and the commemoration of prominent occasions are mentioned as they occurred in three main periods, where they affected the public scene and introduced facts that can no longer be hidden. The book has focused on Russia's war on Ukraine since 2014.
The periods are: Earth-Shattering Soviet Fall, The Circassians Until Sochi Winter Olympic Games February 2014, The Russian Occupation and Annexation of the Crimea 2014, Russia's Invasion of Ukraine and Beyond / February 2022, and Key Facts.
The book has compared the war of extermination in Ukraine in the twenty-first century with the war of annihilation that took place in Circassia in the nineteenth century. The world did not know about the scale of events that occurred in the past, including the extermination of 50% of the Circassians.
The twenty-first of May, since 1864, is the day of commemoration of the extermination and deportation of 90% of the Circassian nation to a permanent compulsory exile. Only 10% of the Circassian nation is still living in their historical Circassian homeland, divided and distributed in several non-contiguous artificial administrative regions.
According to this reality, not being able to restore the right of self-determination until this date does not constitute acceptance of the fait accompli to the Circassian nation in any way. Rather, it motivates those with determination to demand the restoration of their inalienable rights, no matter how difficult or how long it takes.
The Soviet Union, headed by Joseph Stalin, began to prepare for what could be done towards Ukraine, especially with regard to monopolizing the cultivation, production, sale, and export of grain and agricultural products, in order to control the sales proceeds by conducting them centrally by Moscow. He was in the process of catching every incoming and outgoing import and export with regard to the Ukrainian economy, even at the expense of the health, safety, and well-being of Ukrainian citizens.
It did not save Ukraine that it was subjected to the Holodomor, one of the worst genocides at the beginning of the twentieth century, which was committed by the Soviet Union during the dictatorship of Stalin in 1932 and 1933. It is an artificial famine that was planned, premeditated, and killed millions of Ukrainians. Knowing that the Ukrainian government, as well as the parliament, considered after independence from the Soviet Union that what happened to the Ukrainian people at that time was a genocide.
As a matter of fact, little by little, it was found appropriate, specifically following the aggressive Russian war against Ukraine and the occupation of large areas, seeking to annex them to the Russian entity under different names and titles. It is appropriate to mention in this regard, the great similarity in colonial policy greed, despite the difference in time and history between the nineteenth and twenty-first centuries. The common factor was and still is the invasion and extermination of peoples and nations, which exposed the true face of this reckless behavior that showed the extent to which the colonial policy was diligently applied according to aggressive military grounds.
It is not a matter of offending anyone, nor just repeating narratives or describing flowery words whether randomly or haphazardly. In the long run, no one will benefit from any uncalculated movement. Therefore, it is dealt with, to clarify the scene and the broader image, which will give an objective idea with comprehensive and integrated fundamental concepts.
The game of country neighbors' destinies manipulation has definitely been imprinted in their minds that emerged from their doctrinal school, which is constructed on the acquisition idea of the homelands of other peoples and nations, regardless of results or cost.
Although the wounds of the crimes and tragedies committed by the Russian Empire in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries have not yet healed, rather the Russian state has delved deeper into it after the collapse of the Russian Empire and the emergence of the Soviet Union, which disintegrated after 68 years of rule by tyranny with iron and fire. The Soviet Union assumed control of many peoples and nations through the domination of the Communist Party according to a one-party dictatorship method that sometimes turned into a one-man rule in unprecedented absolutism.
What took place in the past and is developing nowadays necessitated documenting, showing, and exposing the facts and events, which will set the record straight. Where actions speak louder than words, this confirms an undeniable reality. With peoples deprived of their rights, the Russian state did not care so far for mending fences and reconciling for peace and fairness.
That confirms an undeniable fact, which is that the Russian state has not cared so far to carry out the duty entrusted to it in order to correct what the successive Russian regimes have committed against the Circassian nation and other victims of wars, occupation, genocide, deportation, and forced annexation.
The current aggressive war was not a bolt from the blue. Rather, it proves the colonial tendency that Russian policymakers prefer to follow. They apparently adhere to an overall imperial policy that is undeniably wicked policy that lacks tact and courtesy.
