About the Book

John Bakecliff is a relatively uneducated man of high intelligence and a wealth of skills developed over a lifetime of hard work.  He has finally risen to a good job as a Service Manager of a car dealership.  A single afternoon’s overtime labor pulls him from his staid life forever.  He is thrust into the World of Crime, Drugs, and Law Enforcement.  John carries a lot of baggage: a sexually-confused Savant daughter, cast-iron attitudes, a savage well-developed training in the art of killing which was honed in Vietnam, unscrupulous superiors, and an odd assortment of old friends from the Vietnam Era who are complaisant with the use of unorthodox methods.

John Bakecliff follows one mistake with another; each causing him to rise, due to his increasing value to his superiors.  His personal life is equally as filled with mistakes; causing ever-increasing complications.  Armed with only skills derived from a violent conflict in his Youth and with little education on which to depend; John Bakecliff finds himself rising to the rank of the most powerful in the Country.

About the Author

Lawrance George Lux is a fifty-year-old former farmer, construction worker, economist, and historian with an M.Ed. His study of social issues has led him to conclude that evils of Government come from a combination of technical expertise, expediency, and transitory leadership, which brings forth irresponsibility and corrupt decision-making.
