About the Book

Buddy, a German shepherd, slips his collar during a frightening thunderstorm. Exhausted and hungry after running for miles, he seeks shelter in a thicket. When morning finds him shivering under a bush, he moves on only to be chased away at each place he stops. Finally, a farmer and his wife befriend him. Come join Buddy on his farm adventures as he throws down boundaries to a portly construction guy, a UPS man, and a grey coyote. Meet his new friend Bella Burrito from Chicago and enjoy their newfound friendship! Ride in the truck with Buddy as he takes on Mr. Vulture and meet his farmer friend who brings him barbequed steak bones! This loving canine brings laughter as he establishes boundaries and learns a few himself.

About the Author

Eva Dunavan and her husband, Joe, reside on an East Central Illinois farm. Her farm experience and their travels inspire her story ideas. She has a Master of Education degree from the University of Illinois and a diploma from the Institute of Children’s Literature in Redding, Connecticut. She has taught for thirty-six years (kindergarten to seventh grade) and understands the importance of children grasping the concepts of boundaries in relationships. Choices and consequences are showcased in her stories. With a touch of humor, she develops her characters; and they model concepts of loving, sharing, caring and learning to establish boundaries.
