About the Author

Vincent A. Dearing is an emeritus Professor of English at the University of California, Los Angeles, where he taught the English Bible as Literature for forty years. He has edited the Clarendon edition of The Poems and Prose of John Gay and the California edition of The Works of John Dryden. He has been a Guggenheim and a Fulbright fellow. He specializes in textual criticism and has written two books on the subject. His current project is an edition of the Greek New Testament based on manuscripts written before the tenth century. He has had lifelong experience with spiritual healing.
