About the Author

Dorothy Truex was born in Sedalia, Missouri, the daughter of a Southern Baptist minister. Her extensive education includes a B.A. from William Jewell College as an English major, and M.A. in Educational Counseling from the University of Missouri, a doctorate from Columbia University in Student Personnel Administration, and post doctoral study at Harvard in Educational Management. Her career as a high-ranking educational administrator includes time spent at four institutions: The University of Oklahoma, Northwest Missouri State University, Mercer University, and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Her association with nine college presidents has provided the material for this novel. The author’s work with nine college presidents also brought her in contact with the wives. In fact, she was hired as Dean of Women at the University of Oklahoma by the president’s wife, as the president was out of the country. Seeing the daily life of the president was colored by the support he received from his wife and children, as well as by his colleagues. This sequel is written from the wife’s perspective.
