About the Book

When Allison was five years old and her sister, Cherry, was three, their mother was killed. Their father was a compulsive gambler and decided early on that he could not care for the two little girls. He put them up for adoption and the Gordon’s took both the girls even though they really only wanted Cherry.

When Allison started school, she was diagnosed with dyslexia and had difficulty reading and spelling. She was musical, had a good voice, and her step-father, George, bought her a Martin guitar on which she became proficient.

She went to Las Vegas to find her real father and he was on a lucky streak so he gave her some money. She had the opportunity to sing back-up for Rita Rose, a popular singer, until it was almost time for her to deliver.

While taking classes at a dance studio, Dan wooed her and took her on trips and to competitions. His attention was flattering and she bought him a car. He was fired because of this interchange between dance teacher and student. In the meantime she had met David who was a teacher at the dance studio and he was in love with her and wanted to marry her.

She was reluctant to marry him because she felt she was unattractive. She wanted to become a singer and put out a demo which was hugely successful. With this money she got a body-reshaping and consented to marry David. Happy endings for a girl and woman who had been ignored and abused before she found true love.
