About the Book

How we “selve” our identities is the deep background for Anton’s new novella, The Angel in Wax. In his contemporary story four people come to know each other in strange circumstances an through unusual ways. Each is a representative of how thoughtful people from different walks of life, seemingly settled in their lives, begin to confront themselves : the circumstances of their lives, their work, their friendships, their beliefs, loves and lovers, their deaths. These diverse post-modern people are shown to be struggling with some of the same principal matters that people a hundred-fifty years ago began to encounter --- who to believe in, what to believe in, how to live their beliefs, and die their deaths according to them. Like those before them, they seem caught between two words, waiting for a new life.

About the Author

David Anton began writing novels and short stories as a corollary with his writing, editing, and publishing literary books, essays, and reviews during the years of his university lecturing. His first published novel is titled, The Belle of Cripple Creek Gold, a historical novel about the tragicomic life of seeking the riches of discovering gold. His second novel, Angel in Wax, is a love story about a monk, a writer, and a priest who come to know and love a woman because of her radiant, wonderfully expressive personality. His third novel is called, Sailing: Inside Passages. It is the story of self-discovery on a European cruise to the Western Mediterranean during which six guests dining at the same table experience fresh possibilities for the renewing their lives.
