About the Author

Queen of the Nerds is a fictional story inspired by real events of the author’s childhood. Jackie Newton resides near Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri where she performs as an entertainer of music and comedy. Jackie is also a retired reading specialist for grades 7-9 and a part-time instructor for State Fair College in Sedalia, Missouri. Her experiences and interactions with young people often become great links for ideas to include in her mystery, ghost and juvenile stories. Her travels provide exciting sources for her comic/developmental school assembly programs and writings. Ms. Newton’s books include: The Summer of Roux, A Friend from the Past, Queen of the Nerds and A New York Tumbleweed.
