About the Book

A Blissful Day is about a young girl reminiscing about her love for school and her teachers, at the same time dreaming about receiving her first tattoo while pondering what she will tell her mother. When dreaming, the young girl visualizes the exact day she first realizes that a beautiful long stem rose suits her.
About the Author
As an educator for the past twenty-five years, Dr. Lenetta Raysha Lee began her education at Lincoln University in Pennsylvania where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education. She continued her education at The Ohio State University where she earned a Masters Degree in Language Arts and reading. Interested in combining all of her research ideas, African American Children’s Literature, literacy across the curriculum, and multicultural education, Dr. Lee earned a PhD from the first African and African American Studies Department at Temple University. Currently Dr. Lee holds 3 teaching certifications from the Pennsylvania Department of Education: Early Childhood, Reading Specialist & English as Second Language. Dr. Lee has taught first grade, middle school and high school as well as college age students. She currently resides in Lincoln University, Pennsylvania with her son Langston. Dr. Lee is the author of My Seven Other Mothers: A Journey of Transformation. This is her first picture book. Interested in flowers, nature and photograph, Dr. Lee used photographs from her personal collection for her artwork.
