Walt Atkins, Maryland ‘72 BS in Journalism, served in college sports information before starting a successful sales career March 10, 1980 and retiring December 31, 2010. He and his wife Pam reside in Graham, NC, where they work together on their investments, enjoy their ministries, family, golf and travel. Both are active Sunday School teachers at Beacon Baptist Church in Burlington, NC. Walt has earned a private pilot’s license and served two elected four-year terms on the Graham City Council. Their daughter Cristy, her husband Thomas Slawson, and two grandchildren are Christian missionaries to Russia.
