About the Book

The Chinese Ladys of Los Angeles by Sunny Blue is about 25 Chinese-American women from different countries who come to the United States to pursue the American dream. They learn and grow in the midst of confusion and suffering, refine their personalities in the midst of moral and legal conflicts, and walk out of their own paths in the pursuit of love and money.


About the Author

Author Sunny Blue, real name Qiu Ming, used to use pen names: Luo Ke and Qiu Ming. Graduated from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Qiu Ming was the host of “Qiu Ming’s Mailbox” in China Women’s Newspaper, and a special film critic for Popular Cinema and Beijing Film Forum. She has published books such as Out of the Hedge of the Heart, Marrying China and Staying Away from China, and co-authored the Chinese Women Series. She has worked as a reporter, editor, and deputy editor in Great Wall Literature and Art, Chinese Popular Fiction Library, Chinese Martyrs, and Beijing Legal News. She is the author of short stories, documentary literature, reportage, and movie reviews, and has won several awards for reportage, fiction, and vernacular literature. She has been featured in the Los Angeles Times, Christian Science Monitor, Los Angeles Social Survey, Editing and Publishing Magazine, Canada’s Globe and Mail, London’s Women’s Magazine, and People’s Daily (Overseas Edition), and was interviewed and followed up by Phoenix Satellite Television twice in 2004 and 2005. In recent years, she has edited the collection of works of Carved Dragon Poetry Society, “Poetry in a Strange Land” and “L.A. Poetry Rain”, etc. In 2019, she published a full-length novel, “L.A. Chinese Woman”, etc. She has been living in Los Angeles, U.S.A. since 1989, and has worked part-time day and night for more than 20 years in order to support her family, which has accumulated a lot of materials, and after she was injured, she began to re-write her work again. She used to work as a talk show host in a Chinese radio station.
