About the Author
In the year 1957, when Rock ‘n Roll was in full swing, Roberto opened his night club, “The Calypso.” In the City of Los Angeles, California, he writes of some experiences and events which took place between 1957 and 1962. As you unfold the pages, and read of the “Calypso Nightclub,” you will glow with vibrant laughter at the language used by some of the characters. Some of the names have been changed to hide the identity of the people involved. Roberto, owner of “The Calypso Nightclub” didn’t realize that when he first opened the door of the Calypso to the public, he was also planting seeds of joy, sorrow, greed and corruption for the next five years. One dark night, Roberto was confronted by Lt. Postolie of the Narcotic Division, Los Angeles Police Department, who demanded that Roberto give him a list of suspected drug dealers and users. When Roberto refused to become a police informant, Lt. Postolie blew his top and vowed to close the Calypso Nightclub. For the next five years, Lt. Postoli became Roberto’s worst nightmare.
