About the Book

    Depth of Field spans some twenty years of Nöelle Hudson’s life.  To begin with, Nöelle is personally faced with the abortion issue twice as a teenager.  Depth of Field takes you with her through the controversial decisions she makes regarding the life developing insider her.  The major decision, whether or not to tell the baby’s father.

   There is focus on Anthony Alston, the man in her life and the choices he makes concerning their alliance.  Anthony’s options in this regard move about through a muddled web of confusion and misunderstanding.

   Nöelle has been hurt.  Following the laws of nature, as with many of God’s creatures, Nöelle finds that proverbial corner to lick her wounds, and coming out fighting--a sword of deception being her weapon of choice.  Nöelle subsequently finds the road of life to be a rocky one--a road not easily traveled.  This especially due to the course she takes along the way; the course leading off into that path of deception.  This deceptive course manifests itself via a domino effect.  Complicating her life as well as those close to her who in turn become ensnared  in her deceitful scheme.

    Nöelle often finds herself in times of discord, turning to David Johnson; a friend in the truest sense.  However, David wishes to hold a title more noteworthy than that of friend.  Searching his own heart he is certain that Nöelle is not prepared to return his love--or any man’s, until she rids herself of the ghosts.  The brilliance of his armor is not sufficient to bring Nöelle out of that dark place that contains her heart which is notorious of the apparitions of  Anthony’s past love which haunt her.

    Life charges Nöelle for the choices she makes.  However, she finds it difficult to make imbursement.  In spite of herself, those closest to her remain close in a endeavor to galvanize the strength necessary to assist her to deal with the deceitful dilemma she faces in search of that happy ending.

About the Author

Ms. Pointer-Emery is a native of Philadelphia. A member of the National Conference of Negro Women as well as a member of the Black Women’s Task Force, and holds a Commission under the the Arizona Secretary of State. Ms. Pointer-Emery resides in Arizona with her two daughters and is currently working on her next novel.
