About the Book
Bonus Time-One Pilots Story of World War II is the true account of those years by a young man who was a combat pilot in the Army Air Force. The story is narrated by the pilot of a B-26 Marauder, using his personal notes and recollections. It includes some descriptions of combat missions, plus real life stories of living on Corsica and in France while not flying. Some insight is given into the feelings of sadness and fear that mingled with moments of love and happiness during that tumultuous time. This is put into chronological context with historical information from the WWII period.
About the Author
William F. Roberts was a pilot in the Army Air Force during World War II. He flew 45 combat missions in the B-26 Marauder over Italy, France and Germany. Mr. Roberts received a degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Florida and a Masters Degree from the University of California at Los Angeles. He lived in California while working in the aerospace industry, then later in Pennsylvania where he was an entrepreneur and the founder of several companies. He is currently living an active retirement with his wife, Constance, in Gainesville, Florida.
