A WORD FROM THE AUTHOR
Believing that the process of shaping the child´s heart is tantamount to shaping the future, Ms. Samuel´s picture book serves children and points them to the cross of Christ. Ms. Samuel encourages parents,
"Jesus´ arms are open wide to all, and children are capable of appropriating this embrace. The resulting relationship gives the growing child an edge in today´s world. He/she comes to possess an identity which is grounded in truth, peace, inner freedom, and purity (characteristics so foreign to this world).
"A child´s heart is tender and reachable. We are never to underestimate his/her ability to grasp the concept of God´s love; it is as simple as it is deep. Also, we have the reassurance that the the Holy Spirit will "bear witness" to their hearts of this truth. Jesus said in Matt 19:14, "Suffer the little children to come unto me and forbid them not, for such is the kingdom of heaven." My prayer is that every child who reads this book will be drawn closer to the heart of the Good Shepherd."
