About the Book
Nicholas Steiner grew up in the Northeast at a time when winters could be fierce and last for months. Saddened by the effects of global climate change and fearful of what lies ahead, the photographer attempts here to rekindle the beauty of winters past.
About the Author
The author is a Board Certified internist who practiced in New York City until 1984 when illness necessitated early retirement. An earlier memoir “UNFORESEEN CONSEQUENCES: A Physician’s Personal Triumph over Advanced Melanoma” (Xlibris) relates how cancer affected his professional and personal lives, and the key role played by Traditional Chinese Medicine (herbs) in his “miraculous” recovery. In between writing these memoirs Steiner compiled a narrative based on his (German) grandparents and parents’ lives before, during and after WW II. An avid photographer since age 15, he has published many books of his pictures.
