About the Book
This is a collection of poems, prose, and other creative pieces. Roy has always loved words. He has always been fascinated with the English language and how each word can be utilized in various ways depending on its context. Being somewhat of a loner at times, he found solace in turning to the pen and putting his thoughts and feelings on paper. Here is a small slice of some of his collected “slices of life’s excursions”. His hope is that these slices will create conversations, thus leading to understanding and, thereby, an appreciation of the other persons point of view.
About the Author
Roy Lee “Simon” Jarmon was the second of eleven children, born in the Mississippi Delta to the late George and Minnie Bell Armstrong Jarmon. Having served in Vietnam, he was diagnosed with PTSD in 2004. As part of his recovery, his therapist suggested that he write about his experiences. Roy had always love poetry and writing in his earlier years and his journaling has lead to this – his second book of poetry and prose. He still lives in Piscataway, NJ with his second wife, Audrey, whom he married November 7, 2009. His first wife, Nathalyn Vershelle Cato, of whom this book is dedicated, died from breast cancer in 2005.
